The Business Development Bachelor’s provides you with everything you need to know about the creation and management of a company

The Bachelor’s degree in Business Development allows students to develop their skills in sales techniques and their ability to undertake and innovate. It is also a choice of global program since all dimensions of the company are addressed.

Students will also discover the notions of retail and distribution which will allow them to manage and run a point of sale, franchised or not, but also to select and motivate a team.

It also allows any manager wishing to evolve within a company to master the tools and methods to be put in place in order to lead and develop a distribution network. You will then be able to launch yourself into business development or entrepreneurial ventures one day.

A diploma course in 1, 2 or 3 years to approach e-commerce and the creation of a Start Up

Holders of a BAC can enter the 1st year Bachelor, holders of a BAC+1, the 2nd year Bachelor, and those with a BAC+2 the 3rd year Bachelor.

The Bachelor’s degree welcomes students from a variety of backgrounds: BTS, RNCP level 5 qualifications, DUT, preparatory classes, Licence 2.

The Business Development Bachelor’s degree trains students to understand the mechanisms of creating a business, its causes of failure and the conditions for success. The students will be able to understand the usefulness and methodology of the elaboration of a business plan, to know the processes and stages of the company takeover, but also to prepare the creation of their own Start Up in the short term.

The 3rd year program can be done in alternation. It provides the necessary basis for monitoring and analysing the data related to its activity, carrying out a global assessment of the actions and establishing recommendations for adjustments.

All of our 3rd year Bachelor’s degree courses are specialized and professionalized in order to provide students with the ability to be fully operational once they graduate.

What are the courses of the Bachelor in Business Development ?

The courses listed below are examples only and may vary slightly depending on the campus. The content of the courses is adapted each year to reflect market developments and is updated before the start of each new school year.

METHODS AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES

Business game

The business game is played using a business simulator. Groups of students are responsible for running a business in real time. All major business functions are covered. Students will make decisions to maximize the profitability of the business.

Business English

To perfect the understanding and communication techniques specific to marketing and communication and applied to entrepreneurship.

Employment contract and negotiation

This module deals with the specificities of the employment contract: in terms of typology, execution, modification and suspension, termination, and even in its collective aspects.

Management information systems

Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Trade conferences and company visits

Presentation of the professions in the sector by professionals and, if necessary, site visits (including incubators).

CROSS-CUTTING AND CORE COURSES

Negotiation techniques and the art of persuasion

This module allows you to appropriate the foundations of NLP in order to understand its interest, to easily create a relationship of trust with your client, to develop your sense of observation, to adapt your speech to the client’s sensory register, to refine the client’s expectations and needs thanks to the metamodel and to better understand the client’s behaviour thanks to the metaprograms, in the form of role plays.

360° strategy

This module focuses on the study and deployment of communication campaigns. The case studies will range from SMEs with limited resources to multinational companies with much larger budgets.

Financial business plan

This module focuses on mastering the challenges of performance management by setting up a Management by Objectives, determining and setting SMART objectives, measuring performance in the company and the departments using previously defined indicators in order to create an action plan for management.

Experiences and challenges

The experiences and projects are multiple and meet the objectives of professionalization and practical situations.

This allows you to confront yourself with project management (individual or group) and the reality of the company.

Program: internships, seminars, corporate missions, team building, presentations.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

Entrepreneurship & Collective Intelligence

This module covers the specific elements of entrepreneurship which includes the creation and development of a business as well as value creation and legal aspects. Elements of intrapreneurship will also be discussed.

Franchising and organised trade

Franchising and other forms of organized trade (affiliation, brand licensing, cooperatives, etc.) will be covered in this module. The commercial agreement of the commercial and service franchise will be particularly studied.

Legal and contractual aspects of franchising

This module deals with the legal framework of franchising and addresses the point of view of both the franchisor and the franchisee. Trademark law is also discussed.

Market research & Business plan deciphering

In this module, the issues and objectives of market research and the different stages will be presented. Qualitative and quantitative approaches will be discussed in order to test a concept or a change in all or part of the marketing mix.

Sources of funding and financial forecasts

Online social networks are now almost ubiquitous and techniques are evolving very quickly.

The objective is therefore to scan the media and supports on the Internet in order to conquer new prospects and consumers.

Financial and legal management

This module deals with the main elements necessary for the entrepreneur to present the creation and development of his company from a financial point of view.

Strategic business development

Strategic business development is about developing the growth of the company. It includes sales development, implementation of operational marketing, a vision of the competition and a work of animation and development of loyalty.

Commercial management of the point of sale & Distribution strategies

The commercial management of the point of sale allows to apprehend the whole of the elements impossible to circumvent with the daily management and in a perspective of medium and long term with the development of one or more points of sale.

Brand Management

The objective of this module is to provide the skills necessary for brand management, which includes all strategic and operational decisions related to a brand or a brand portfolio.

1 or 2 start dates per year and a work-study programme

Each year, the start of the 3rd year Bachelors program takes place in September. Some campuses also offer a staggered start in February.

The course rhythm is 3 days/2 days for 6 months and then 6 months full time in a company.

This rhythm is the same whether the learner is in initial training (internship) or in continuing education (professionalization/apprenticeship).

What are the requirements to enter the Bachelor program?

  • To enter the first year, you must hold a baccalaureate (all sections) or a Diplôme d’Accès aux Études Universitaires (DAEU), recognized as level 4;
  • To enter into the second year: it is necessary to have validated 60 ECTS in a sector considered to be identical in terms of competencies to that of the course or to have validated 120 ECTS in a management science environment;
  • To enter into the third year: it is necessary to have validated a 120 ECTS or a level 5 in a sector considered to be identical in terms of competencies to that of the course or to have validated 180 ECTS in a management science environment.

What are the professional skills developed with the Bachelor in Business Development ?

The objectives in terms of skills are to be able to:

  • Implement the marketing strategy;
  • Block 1 – Participate in the definition of the company’s or organization’s business strategy
  • Block 2 – Design and implement a business development plan
  • Block 3 – Define and manage the budgetary elements of business development

This program delivers the certification ” Responsable d’Activités Commerciales ” of level 6 (EU) registered in the RNCP (Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles) under the code n°36294 .

This certification is accessible by VAE.

The validation of the certification is obtained by acquiring four skills modules of competences common to all the courses as well as a professionalisation module according to the course of the candidate.

What are the teaching methods of the INSEEC Bachelor program?

Teaching methods

Evaluation methods

The three years of the program alternate between concept acquisition and practical application.

Each semester is validated by the award of 30 ECTS credits. Progression through the Bachelor’s program is achieved by validating the semesters one after the other, i.e. 180 ECTS credits acquired at the end of the 3-year program. The evaluation of the students’ knowledge acquisition is done through continuous assessment followed by mid-term and final evaluations at the end of each semester.

Methods and tools

  • The evaluation methods are face-to-face, in the form of continuous assessment or final exams in the form of mid-term exams.

What are the tuition fees for the Business Development program?

Initial training:

  • For a 3rd year Bachelor’s degree : 8 900 €.

Continuing education (sandwich course) :

  • For a 3rd year Bachelor’s degree : 9 700 €.
