Currently in MSc 2 Corporate Finance & Financial Engineering, which she is following on the INSEEC campus Chambéry campus Tina Mermillod-Blondin is currently working as a management controller at Emerson in Bonneville.
She opens the doors to her career and her job.
She was not afraid to change careers and start a new education.
” After obtaining my scientific baccalaureate, I decided (somewhat by chance, I must admit) to study law,” presents the student.
” Graduated from a Law Degree and a Master 2 in Real Estate Law at the University Jean-Moulin Lyon 3, and after several internships, I realized that the legal field did not suit me. ”
Tina is indeed looking for meaning and decides in 2019 to join INSEEC Campus in Chambéry for an MSc 1 Corporate Finance. Confirmed, this year, by an MSc 2 Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering.
” I chose this master’s degree because it allowed me to combine theoretical and practical skills in various areas of finance (in accounting as well as in taxation and financial analysis). INSEEC Chambéry also offers an interesting professional approach with its sandwich course. An aspect for me that is essential to the pursuit of my studies, as it allows for easier professional integration. “
Work-study at Emerson
Tina works at Emerson, a global technology and engineering company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
She tells us about her daily life :
“I am a junior controller. To summarize the role of the management controller, his goal is to organize and control the economic management of the company. This requires the definition of objectives, activity indicators and performance measurement. It thus optimizes financial profitability. It assists the governing bodies in defining the overall strategy. “
“My missions are quite varied. From the analysis of the company’s fixed costs, to the monitoring of the turnover and productivity of the different production lines. I also prepare financial reports, analyzing various performance indicators of the company (for example, inventories or margins), continues this travel enthusiast. Tina has already spent a few months in Australia.
” After my internship, I would like to continue my career in management control. I like this job because of its pivotal role in the financial and strategic management of the company. The management controller is also required to question the various departments in order to obtain the information necessary for his analyses. This is a very interesting aspect of the job. It provides a good understanding of the company’s operations and the role of each person.
And why not try an international experience thanks to a V.I.E… ”
