INSEEC Toulouse, one of our favorite student cities!

Why choose Toulouse to study at a business school?

A cosmopolitan metropolis where life is good, Toulouse is one of the world’s leading student cities, with a rich cultural environment and a considerable and diversified job pool.

Close to the Pyrenees and Spain, and just 1h30 from the sea, Toulouse is one of the world’s favorite student cities, thanks to its many advantages: quality of life, friendly student atmosphere, accessible transport and accommodation, climate, a wealth of leisure, sporting and cultural activities, etc…

In addition to its position as Europe’s aeronautics and space capital, the Toulouse metropolitan area is also a major employment hub, with a number of centers of excellence: digital technology, new technologies, artificial intelligence, agri-food, the Cancer-Bio-Health cluster, major transport-logistics platforms, construction and real estate, services, retail and wholesale, research, etc…

INSEEC in Toulouse

The INSEEC 2024-2025 programs will be deployed on the 1,400 m² ISCT campus in Toulouse’s Basso Cambo business district, 200 meters from the metro and just a few stops from the city center.

ISCT – Institut Supérieur de Commerce de Toulouse (part of the same OMNES Education group as INSEEC) was founded in Toulouse in 1994. ISCT is one of the leading business and management schools in Occitanie, specializing in work-study programs, with a network of over 1,000 partner companies.

INSEEC and ISCT offer a joint catalog of courses on the same Toulouse campus:

  • BTS, state diplomas, level Bac+2, issued by the French Ministry of Education,
  • Several INSEEC Bachelors corresponding to RNCP level 6 qualifications,
  • Masters of Science (MSc) corresponding to INSEEC and ISCT level 7 qualifications.

The school/business alternation rhythm depends on the program: 1 week of classes every 3-4 weeks, or 3 days every 15 days, or 2 days of classes per week.

INSEEC and ISCT pool their teams in Toulouse with their own company placement office, with a permanent list of job offers from over 1,000 partner companies in Toulouse and the Midi-Pyrénées / Occitanie region. 60% of our students find their company through the school.

INSEEC and ISCT Business School are in JPO (Journées Portes Ouvertes) mode every Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm on their Toulouse campuses.

Toulouse’s economic fabric

Toulouse is a major player in the French economy, with a gross domestic product (GDP) of almost 50 billion euros in 2023. With its booming economy and diversified sectors, the “pink city” is an ideal environment for work-study students and young Inseecc graduates.

The city boasts a diversified economic fabric, notably in aeronautics, space, healthcare and new technologies.

Aeronautics and Space

Indeed, the aeronautics and space sectors alone account for around 25% of local employment.

Toulouse is home to the headquarters of the French space agency CNES (Centre national d’études spatiales), which is a program agency, technical center and space operator. Other leading companies in this sector include THALES Alenia space. This international satellite manufacturer designs and builds solutions for telecommunications, satellite navigation, Earth observation, environmental monitoring, science, space exploration and orbital infrastructure.

Airbus is, of course, the main employer in the Toulouse area, making it Europe’s aeronautics capital. The group comprises several divisions. The best-known is airliners (half of those produced worldwide!), but there are also military aircraft, drones, missiles, space launchers and artificial satellites.

Competitive clusters and R&D

This dynamism is underpinned by competitive clusters such as Aerospace Valley, which brings together more than 800 players and has generated over €1.5 billion in R&D investment. As a result, Toulouse ranks 1st in France in terms of GDP devoted to R&D.

Healthcare in Toulouse: A Sector of Excellence

In recent years, Toulouse has also become a key player in the healthcare sector. A European-scale cancer research cluster, dermatology, cosmetics, gerontology, heart surgery, anti-bioresistance, microbiota: all these fields of excellence contribute to making Toulouse a European and global center for healthcare research.

The Digital and Technological Sector

The digital and technology sector is also experiencing strong growth.

According to a study by the metropolis, the number of start-ups has risen by 25% in the last three years, reaching almost 1,500. The presence of public business incubators and private incubators (Airbus, Orange, Crédit Agricole, At Home…) enables our students to develop entrepreneurial skills and contribute to innovative projects. It also makes Toulouse the 2nd city in France in terms of start-up creation.

Toulouse start-ups: BtoB DNA

Because of its DNA, start-ups in the “ville rose” develop mainly BtoB technologies, such as IoT, Big data, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics and autonomous transport.

As a result, the digital sector’s share of the local economy has risen to 15%. Here, you can discover all the modes of transport of the future, most of them autonomous: from automated metro systems (Siemens Mobility) to airplanes (Airbus), autonomous shuttles (Easymile), connected cars (Renault Zoé), flying cars (EVA) and drones (Delair). The metropolis is also a testing ground, taking part in European initiatives such as Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

A dynamic job market

Last but not least, the city’s population is growing at an annual rate of 1.5%. This demographic dynamism feeds the job market and attracts talent from all over the world, consolidating Toulouse’s position as a key economic hub in Europe. Numerous professional events and networks, such as the Toulouse Business Club and the Toulouse Tech trade show, encourage meetings between students and employers.

INSEEC initiatives for professional integration

Initiatives such as job preparation workshops, specific training courses and coaching sessions are regularly offered by our schools to help young graduates position themselves effectively in the job market.

INSEEC also forges partnerships with local companies to offer training programs tailored to market needs. This synergy facilitates access to employment and work-study opportunities for our students. All in all, Toulouse offers a wealth of opportunities for work-study students and future business school graduates, enabling them to build a solid career in a dynamic and innovative environment.
